Economic Affairs and Investment Department
The key functions of the Director Economic Affairs Department are to: –
- Coordinate the Ministry’s formulation and implementation of Economic Development Plans, Programmes and Services in the Province in line with national development objectives and Vision 2030.
- Direct economic development initiatives in the Province to achieve goals and objectives outlined in National Development policies and priorities based on the economic endowments of the Province.
- Manage the identification, design and facilitation of business projects that attract investments by a combination of small, medium and large enterprises for the women, youths and other economic actors within and from outside Zimbabwe.
- Oversee the establishment of effective economic governance systems in the Province in partnership with relevant Line Ministries and Departments, parastatals, state enterprises and private sector players into the planning and implementation of the economic growth and transformation plans for the Province and its Districts.
- Formulate and implement marketing, business and investment attraction strategies for the Province;
- Formulate strategies to aid Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth in the Province.
- Provide professional advice to Local Authorities and Provincial Development Councils on Economic Development issues.
- Formulate, evaluate and monitor the implementation of legislation and regulations relating to economic development in the Province;
- Coordinate the preparation of economic development reports for the Province;
- Participate in stakeholder economic development negotiations for the Province.
